Stoffton is a thriving mill town located north and west of Pelican Town. Stoffton is designed to be played either as a standalone mod (you can access Stoffton as soon as the bus has been repaired) or with Fostoria. If you have both Fostoria and Stoffton installed, you can walk to Fostoria or Stoffton immediately upon starting a new game.

Stoffton is a substantial expansion to the base game, including two large maps, nearly forty (40) locations, eleven (11) shops, almost fifty (50) new NPCs and many new marriage candidates. The total number of marriage candidates is somewhat flexible. Two non-marriage candidates (Mac and Yosef) can be changed to marriage candidates using the config.json file and two marriage candidates (Dahlia and Josef) can become non-marriage candidates based upon your choices in the game.

Stoffton can be found on Nexus Mods here.

Locations

Stoffton has two large areas for you to explore. The Stoffton map includes the town proper, and Rocky Ford, a rural area to the south of town. If you have Fostoria installed, you will walk through Rocky Ford to reach Stoffton.

Rocky Ford

Rocky Ford is primarily home to the Schafer family. While much of the family still resides on the family farm, one has moved away and others have moved to Stoffton to open various businesses. Currently, three generations live on the Schafer Ranch which has grown over the years to include several additional farmhouses, barns, coops, and pastures.

Location Description Image
Schafer Ranch Most of the buildings and land in Rocky Ford currently belong to the Schafer family, but the heart of the farm is in the northeastern portion of Rocky Ford. Three generations live in the large farmhouse and operate a shop on the ground floor.

The property also includes a large shed, three barns, and a smaller, boarded up home (far to the northeast very near the entrance to the Stoffton map) that was the Schafer's original residence.

Six people live in the farmhouse (although many more visit: Fiona Schafer (widow of Josef), Otto Schafer (widower and oldest son of Fiona and Josef), and Otto's four adult sons - Josef, Mac, Odo, and Rolf. Three of the Schafer boys are marriage candidates, while one (Mac) has his own story you can pursue. (You can also use the config.json file to convert Mac to a marriage candidate.)

Schafer Farm
Vogel Place In the northwestern portion of Rocky Ford is the Vogel Place. The Vogel family once farmed in Rocky Ford but left the area and sold their home and outbuildings to the Schafer family.

The farmhouse has been boarded shut for many years, but Mac Schafer has been using the nearby coop to raise chickens and he has some hopes and dreams regarding a future use of the farmhouse. The shed on the west edge of the property is in use by Odo Schafer, a pilot and model airplane enthusiast.

Vogel Farm
Holtz Tree Farm In the west central portion of Rocky Ford is what remains of Holtz Tree Farm. The Holtz family were woodcutters who also ran an evergreen farm, but they have since left the area and sold their property to the Schafer family.

The house has been boarded shut for many years, but the area is still heavily wooded, and various residents of Stoffton can be found in the area, enjoying the dense growth of trees.

Holtz Tree Farm
Stone Cabins & Quarry The southern portion of Rocky Ford holds the stone cabins and a bit of the quarry that first drew residents to the area. One of the cabins is maintained by the Schafer family because Fiona grew up there before marrying and starting the family farm. Some cabins are in varying stages of disrepair, and others are occupied by secretive, newer residents of Rocky Ford. The quarry contains some stone and is a possible area of future expansion for the mod.

Stoffton (the town)

Stoffton is a large town north of Rocky Ford and can be reached by bus after the bus is repaired. (Stoffton can also be reached by walking if Fostoria has been installed.) The textile mill on the northern edge of Stoffton drives most of the commerce in the area; however, the town includes a variety of shops and other areas to explore. At the center of Stoffton is a large Temple of Yoba where almost all of the residents gather each Sunday. The town also boasts a respectable school building where children (and adults) of all ages are instructed in a variety of subjects.

Location Description Image
East Main Street & the Town Gardens The main street of Stoffton runs along the southern edge of town. To the east are the town gardens where you can often find residents enjoying the outdoors. From left to right, the buildings include a grocery store with apartments for rent upstairs, a fish shop, a gem store, a package liquor store, and a blacksmith. Several marriage candidates make their homes in the eastern main street buildings.

Note: The fish shop is occupied by Remmington if you have both Fostoria and Stoffton installed. If you do not have Fostoria installed, the fish shop is not occupied.

West Main Street The western side of Stoffton's main street is where the bus arrives (after it has been repaired). From left to right, the buildings include, a locked building (currently not in use), an unoccupied building (currently for rent), a pickle shop, a clothing store, the SugarDrop Café and Bakery with a boarding house upstairs (accessed by the middle door), and a flower shop. A few marriage candidates live in the western main street buildings.
West Stoffton
Stoffton Academy On the western side of town, about midway on the map, is the Stoffton Academy. The youngest residents can be found here either indoors or on the playground on most week days, but other residents, including some marriage candidates also use the building for their studies.

Don't miss the aquarium inside the academy where special lectures are given each Friday!

Stoffton Academy
Stoffton Temple of Yoba Stoffton is home to a large Temple of Yoba in the central part of town. In fact, the building is so large that it can hold the entire population. Most of the town can be found in the temple on Sundays.
Stoffton Temple of Yoba
Northeastern Stoffton While most of the residents of Stoffton live in apartments above the stores on main street, one family lives in the northeastern section of Stoffton in a detached Victorian-style house with a nearby hedge maze. The owner of this house is Gerhard Schafer who grew up in Rocky Ford on the Schafer Farm, but who, as a younger man, rebuilt the textile mill and revitalized the entire town. He and his family now live in the home and maintain the hedges that make up the maze. Some of the older Schafers who live here are marriage candidates.
Northeastern Stoffton
The Textile Mill The Stoffton Textile Mill is at the northern edge of the map, near the center. The mill was an important building many years ago, but it fell into disrepair until about thirty years ago when Gerhard Schafer decided to rebuild it in an effort to improve Stoffton. The mill currently employs many of the younger, unmarried residents of Stoffton and has drawn people from many different regions with its promise of gainful employment. Outside the mill are berry bushes that grew from seeds dropped by employees over the years. The entire town of Stoffton is partial to the salmonberries and blackberries that grow here in season.
Stoffton Textile Mill
Northwestern Stoffton In the northwestern region of Stoffton are the oldest buildings in town, dating back to the original settlement which was much smaller, although it did include a textile mill. These buildings are in a genteel state of disrepair, but are not completely unoccupied. The buildings on either end of the row are locked, but the central building is home to Al and his son Will. Will is a marriage candidate.

Story Options [spoilers]
Name Options Story
Dahlia Player's choices in game You can choose to befriend and marry Dahlia, if you wish. However, if you do not marry her, you can play a storyline that allows you to encourage a relationship between Dahlia and Mac. By default, Mac is not a marriage candidate, and as you befriend him, he will rebuild the abandoned Vogel farmhouse in Rocky Ford and, eventually, propose to Dahlia. After a marriage ceremony in the Temple of Yoba, the two will then move into the refinished Vogel house (next to Mac's chicken coop) to continue a life together.
Josef Player's choices in game You can choose to befriend and marry Josef, if you wish. However, if you do not marry him, you can play a storyline that allows you to encourage Josef to return to his engineering career while continuing to live in Stoffton. Josef will renovate (and move to) the original Schafer house (on the northern edge of Rocky Ford near the entrance to Stoffton). Note: You have two opportunities to encourage Josef to renovate the house and continue his dreams: Josef's eight-heart and ten-heart events.
Mac Edit config.json file By default, Mac is not a marriage candidate. This allows him to eventually rebuild the abandoned Vogel farmhouse in Rocky Ford and propose marriage to Dahlia. However, you can change this setting to make Mac a marriage candidate. If you change the setting, Mac will not renovate the house and you will not see the proposal or marriage heart events (for Mac and Dahlia).
Yosef Edit config.json file By default, Yosef is not a marriage candidate. This allows him to renovate one of the derelict buildings in the older part of Stoffton (northwest) and open "The Bolt" a gathering place for the town, open in the afternoon and evenings. If you change the setting, Yosef will become a marriage candidate, but he will not renovate the building or open "The Bolt".

Non-Marriage Candidates

Stoffton and Rocky Ford hold an additional twenty-five people for you to befriend. Some of the residents have lived in the area their entire lives and some have relocated to the community. The residents range in age from very, very young to very, very wise.
