Fiona
Fiona is the matriarch of the Schafer family that operates Schafer Ranch in Rocky Ford. She and her husband Josef had six children, five of which live in Rocky Ford and Stoffton: Otto, Gerhard, Helmut, Johanna, and Felix. Their second child moved from the area many years ago.
Fiona grew up in Rocky Ford in one of the cabins near the quarry. Her father worked at that quarry, and often brought home interesting rocks and items that he dug up while he was at work. Her mother was absent most of the time that Fiona was growing up, and she will share interesting stories about what might have been her mother's heritage, including unusual family entanglements, but it is difficult to know how much of the stories is legend. Regardless, Fiona met and married Josef Schafer and they built the original Schafer home at the northeastern edge of Rocky Ford. Over the years, they continued to expand their farm and ranch land and acquired several other properties until they could afford to build the larger home in which she now lives.
Shortly after her son Felix was born, over thirty years ago, Fiona became a widow. Her oldest son, Otto returned from college with his new wife to begin running the ranch with Fiona, and they learned that they made a good team. Now that Otto runs the ranch full-time, Fiona has eased into semi-retirement as she enjoys spending time with her thirteen grandchildren. She also visits her childhood home often for a break from the chaos that living with five adult men can bring.

Schedule (in brief)
